Franklin Bridge Club runs a structured lessons programme for anyone wanting to learn bridge from scratch — no partner and no experience needed. Lessons are held in-person at the club, delivered via  PowerPoint, printed lesson notes and hands on play, and take you step by step from the basics of bidding through to full play of the hand.

What you’ll learn:

1. Introduction to Bridge — how the game works, the auction, and play
2. Opening Bids — how to value your hand and open the bidding
3. Responses and Rebids — building a conversation with your partner
4. Play of the Hand — declarer play and defence basics

Each lesson comes with student notes and a short quiz so you can practise what you’ve learned.
